The Myrtle Beach Election Commission met Thursday morning to canvass the vote from Tuesday's municipal election and certify the results.
Commissioners accepted four challenge ballots and 14 failsafe ballots but denied 11 additional absentee ballots that were received after the 4:00 p.m. deadline on election day.

The Election Commission confirmed that Wayne Gray won a seat on City Council. A runoff for mayor will be held between John Rhodes and Mark McBride, and a runoff for the two City Council seats will be held among Randal Wallace, Mike Lowder and Chuck Martino.
The runoff election is Tuesday, November 17. The Horry County Voter Registration and Elections Office reports that any registered voter who was eligible for Tuesday's election may vote in the runoff.
