The Coastal Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting a family after a fire destroyed their home.
It happened on Bennett Loop off Highway 9 near Loris.
Horry County Fire Rescue and the Loris Fire Department helped put out the flames.
No one was hurt in the fire.
The owner of the home says he opened his door and saw flames shooting up so he ran outside, fearing the fire would reach a nearby gas tank.
"But flames started shooting back towards me from there, too. So that's when I just broke down in tears and started crying 'cause i was like, i don't know what i'm going to do, I don't know what i'm going to do," said Homeowner Gregory Williams.
Firefighters had been concerned the fire would spread to other homes, but they say they were able to prevent that from happening.
