State Senator Hugh Leatherman
Florence Senator Hugh Leatherman is planning to head overseas on an economic development trip.
Leatherman tells NewsChannel 15 he's going to China and Japan next month to recruit for companies to locate in the Pee Dee. Senator Yancey McGill will also be going on the trip, along with members of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance.
The leaders hope to entice companies that will bring more jobs to the Pee Dee.
Leatherman says he'll release more details about his trip in the coming weeks.
