The Coastal South Carolina Chapter and the Pee Dee Red Cross are both sending volunteers to Georgia to help flooding victims.

In Florence, volunteers packed up their truck Wednesday afternoon. They are heading to Atlanta at the request of the national American Red Cross. The volunteers will help run the shelters and make sure the flooding victims are taken care of.

Volunteer Anthony Hall is excited to help others.

"I like to take my positive energy down there because no matter how big the tragedy there's always a blessing there somewhere," said Hall.

The volunteers are expected to be in Georgia for about a week.

Other Red Cross volunteers are on standby to possibly head there in the next week or so
