COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. John Spratt will hold his second town hall meeting in South Carolina this week on health care reform.
The Democratic chairman of the House Budget Committee will meet with voters at 5 p.m. in Rock Hill, near his native York. Nearly 500 people came to Wednesday's meeting in Sumter.
About three dozen people asked questions or made comments.
Attendees had to write down their questions and put the slips of paper in clear boxes marked oppose, support or undecided. A moderator drew names to call on people.
The opposed box was nearly full, but the crowd was largely civil.
Most of those at the meeting were local, though a few came from as far away as McClellanville.
York County is more heavily Republican and home to state GOP national committeeman Glenn McCall.
