Eight children were taken the hospital after their school bus crashed into the back of a car.

Highway Patrol says the bus was traveling on Highway 41 near Martin Luther King Drive around 3:50 Tuesday afternoon.

Cpl. Brothers with the HP says a car in front of the bus was slowing down to make a turn, when the bus ran into the back of the car.

Highway Patrol has charged the school bus driver with driving too fast for conditions.

Officers say the children had only minor injuries.

NewsChannel 15 has contacted the Georgetown County School District to find out what disciplinary action the driver might face and what school the children attended, our call has not yet been returned.
