A man who ran several computer stores that were shut down in Horry County after dozens of complaints and investigations by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is now operating a new store.
The BBB says several years ago they started receiving many consumer complaints about Computer Inferno and Seaside Computers, both run by Robert Hussey.
Microsoft won a $1.2 million judgement against Hussey for piracy, and he pleaded guilty in criminal court to defrauding customers.
His stores were shut down.
A little over a year ago, the BBB had similar complaints about a computer store in Loris, a store run by Hussey. That store was then shut down.
In January of this year, the BBB once again began receiving similar complaints about Computer Outlet on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach and found out that Hussey is involved in that operation.
"It's so frustrating, because we try and try and protect our community, but he can just, I guess, he can get a business license and keep operating. Unfortunately, until we have victims, the solicitor's office can't pursue him until he has victims," said Kathy Graham with the Better Business Bureau.
The BBB says Hussey has contacted their office and says he's willing to resolve the complaints, but they say they've heard that before.
