Monday, local ministry "Ground Zero" and the city of Myrtle Beach announced the inaugural Ground Zero Dragon Boat Festival.
It will happen at Grand Park in The Market Common in Myrtle Beach on April 25th.
Money raised from the event will go to the Ground Zero Ministry, which reaches out to local teenagers at a time when they need it.
"If you have an opportunity to expose them to good things, they want those things for themselves as well, so we're bringing good news of Jesus Christ to a community that needs good news, to a world that needs good news," said Pamela Pyle, Dragon Boat Festival.
The dragon boat teams will consist of 22 members.
The event is expected to draw more than 800 participants and thousands of visitors.
