The Horry County Sheriff's Office says deputies will continue checking cars entering Gateway Drive through Monday morning.
Gateway Drive leads to Windsor Green where 26 buildings and 109 units were destroyed by fire Saturday evening.
It's also the entrance to more condo complexes.
Drivers are asked to show identification at the checkpoint.
The reason drivers need to check in is for the public safety of the residents of Windsor Green, and the crews working on site, according to Sgt. Jeff Benton with the Horry County sheriff's office.
Residents of properties that are not damaged are being allowed back into their homes, to feed pets and grab medications.
Deputies with the sheriff's office want to make sure everyone coming through are residents, which is why they are checking identification.
Officials are meeting Monday morning to talk about how long these checkpoints will be conducted.
