Robeson County deputies say a 10-year-old child and his younger sibling came home from school Tuesday afternoon and found their mother and her live-in boyfriend dead in their home on Thomas Drive near Lumberton.
Major Howard Branch says the children called their aunt who immediately called 911.
Branch says it appears James Moore, 46, shot and killed Laurie Wheeler, 30, before turning the gun on himself.
Branch says the couple had been dating on and off.
The deaths have been ruled a murder suicide, according to Branch.
