Armed robbery charges have been filed against three men arrested in North Myrtle Beach Monday night in connection with a string of convenience store robberies on the Grand Strand.

Two armed men wearing hooded sweatshirts, ski masks and gloves held up a convenience store at 1601 N. Kings Highway around 11:00 Monday night, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.

The clerk told police the two men pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The clerk said she took about $200 in cash from the cash register and emptied it into a potato chip bag, as the robbers had demanded.

Horry County police are investigating two similar armed robberies in the county. The first happened at a Kangaroo store at 62nd Ave. N. and minutes later at a Scotchman store on Lake Arrowhead Road. Sgt. Robert Kegler says the suspects demanded cash and cigarettes at both locations.

Police agencies in the area were notified to be on the lookout for a suspect vehicle involved in the robberies. Shortly after, North Myrtle Beach police arrested three men seen leaving a convenience store. According to a North Myrtle Beach police report, officers found masks, guns and cash in the suspects' vehicle.

Jermaine Dyson, 23, Terry Gause, 19, of Loris, and Marckel Lewis, 21, of Tabor City, NC were initially charged with Carrying Unconcealed Weapons.

Myrtle Beach police have filed additional charges of Armed Robbery against all three men.

Lewis and Dyson also face charges of Kidnapping and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime and Dyson has an additional charge of Kidnapping.
