A fire damaged an apartment at Village Creek Apartments on Pamplico Highway in Florence just after midnight Saturday.

Florence Fire Chief Randy Osterman says it appears the fire started near a television in a downstairs apartment causing significant damage. He says there was also minor damage to the upstairs unit.

Osterman says the family wasn't home at the time of the fire.

He says about three people are displaced.

Fire crews said the fire is not suspicious, and there were no reported injuries to civilians or fire department personnel.
