A Vietnam war soldier from Florence was finally buried in Arlington National Cemetary Monday.

Colonel Derrell Jeffords was one of six servicemen recently identified who were listed as missing in action during the Vietnam war.

In December 1965, the crew failed to return from a combat strike mission in Southern Laos. The crash site was excavated in 2012 and their bodies identified using dental records and other evidence.

Their remains were buried with full military honors.
