Myrtle Beach Police Captain David Knipes says there was a school bus accident about 9:05 a.m. Monday.

It happened at Harrelson Boulevard and Kings Highway. Knipes says 18 students were on board the Horry County school bus. They were headed from Myrtle Beach High School to Springmaid Resort. Horry County Schools spokesperson Teal Britton says the students were going on a field trip.

Knipes says the bus was traveling south on Harrelson Boulevard when the driver hit the breaks at a stop light. The car behind the bus rear-ended it.

No one was hurt.

Knipes says both the bus driver and the driver of the car were cited, but he's not sure yet what citations were given.

We'll post an update as soon as we have that information.
