The Dillon Wildcats led by freshman QB Avery McCall and running backs Joe and Anthony Blue beat Fairfield Central 21-6.  This is their third state championship in five years.

The Wildcats scored first. In the first quarter, McCall with a 24 yard TD pass to Ereon Hayes and Tara Grimsley's extra point was good to make it 7-0 Dillon.

Fairfield Central got onto the board in the first quarter with a 16 yard TD run from Damian Bell, but the extra point was no good to make it 7-6 Dillon.

Then in the 2nd quarter, McCall completes a 33 yard TD pass to Anthony Blue, and Grimsley's extra point is good. It was 14-6 Dillon.

Late in the 2nd quarter, Fairfield Central threw for the end zone. Dorian Davis with his second INT of the game. Dillon's offense marches all the way down the field. Jackie Hayes decides to go for it on 4th and 5 and McCall makes an 18 yard TD completion to Ezra Lighty to make it Dillon 21 Fairfield Central 6 with :30 to go until the half.

That's the final score. Dillon 21 Fairfield Central 6.

Dillon: 423 yds. of total offense  Fairfield Central: 271 yds. of total offense.

Avery McCall: 12/18 passing, 128 yards, 3 TDPs, 0 INT

Anthony Blue: 24 carries/208 yards, 5 catches/39 yards, 1 TD catch

Joe Blue: 16 carries/96 yards

Dorian Davis:  2 INTs 

Sam McClain: 1 INT 

Tara Grimsley: 3 extra points. She becomes the second female player in South Carolina to be on high school football championship team.
