Lance Corporal Erik Karney, the school resource officer at Socastee High School, was wounded when police say a student pointed a gun at him and fired last September.
Karney was wounded by shrapnel from his office door where the bullet hit.
Karney is now up for America's Most Wanted "All Star Award." The show says his nomination comes following his heroic actions that day and his work with Special Olympics.
