A North Carolina man pleaded guilty in federal court to Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
Kenneth Joseph Eudy, 31, of Concord, North Carolina was required to register as a sex offender due to a conviction in North Carolina in 1999 of Indecent Liberties with a Child. Eudy had registered in North Carolina as required upon his release from prison, but an investigation was begun by the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina, when it was discovered that Eudy was no longer residing at his registration residence.
On March 13, 2011, Eudy was arrested for various offenses, including driving a stolen vehicle in Myrtle Beach. It was determined that Eudy had moved to South Carolina in February of 2011.
United States District Judge R. Bryan Harwell of Florence, SC accepted the plea and will impose sentence after he has reviewed the presentence report which will be prepared by the U.S. Probation Office.
Eudy faces a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment for 10 years, plus a special assessment of $100.
The case was investigated by agents of the United States Marshals Service.
