South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly wreck that happened Wednesday afternoon at Highway 348 and Highway 9 Business in Loris around the Goretown community.

The victim is Leonard Jerry Myers, 64, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.

Myers was driving behind a truck heading away from Loris on Highway 9 Business.

Troopers say when the truck turned his right turn signal on, Myers rear-ended the truck, over-corrected, and flipped the vehicle.

He was thrown from his vehicle and died at the scene, according to Highway Patrol.
