Coastal Carolina University says someone is selling ads for a CCU athletics promotion without its permission.
An area business reported some people stopped by claiming they are selling ads for a poster promoting CCU baseball.
Coastal Carolina University has not authorized any such promotion.
The university urges businesses and individuals not to give cash or checks to solicitors if there is any doubt concerning the validity of their solicitations.
