Three victims of last week's school shooting will be buried Monday. 20 boys and girls, ages 6 and 7, and six adults were killed Friday when a gunman entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut and began shooting.
President Barack Obama spoke at a packed memorial service last night for those killed and pledged to seek change in their memory.
President Obama did not bring up gun control at Sunday's vigil, but in an emotional speech, he vowed to use "whatever power" he has to prevent shootings like this. The Connecticut school shooting is the fourth mass shooting during his presidency.
The president ended his remarks by reading the names of the 20 children killed, saying Americans can't decide that they are "powerless in the face of such carnage."
As officials in Newtown are discussing when classes should resume for students, questions remain if the Sandy Hook Elementary school will ever reopen given the carnage and children's associations with it.
A neighboring town has offered up a former school building to send the surviving students to.
Meanwhile, the investigation into 20-year-old gunman Adam Lanza continues. New details released Sunday show Lanza was carrying enough ammunition to kill just about every student in the school if time permitted.
According to authorities, Lanza was carrying hundreds of rounds of an especially deadly type of ammunition.
