Conway High School opened its doors Tuesday night to have the community help them help those in need this holiday season.

They called it Rivertown Christmas: A Season and Reason for giving.

Student organizations sold items and collected donations for various charities in the area, including Shepherd's TableWaccamaw Youth Center, and Fostering Hope.

"They made their donations of coats, canned goods, books, toys, writing cards to our servicemen and just sharing together in giving," said Conway High School Choral Director Jacelyn Spearman.

Her students put on a concert. There was also a festival of trees and a tree lighting.
