A man ran a stop sign about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in Florence County, causing his own death, according to Highway Patrol.

The man was driving a Ford Explorer on Camp Branch Road when he ran the stop sign at Bethel Road, near Scranton, and was hit by another Ford Explorer, according to Lance Corporal Sonny Collins.

The driver who ran the stop sign was killed, Lance Cpl. Collins said.

His two passengers were taken to the hospital. None were wearing seatbelts, according to Collins.

The other driver was wearing a seatbelt. That person was also taken to the hospital, Lance Cpl. Collins said.

No charges will be filed.
