Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Myrtle Beach firefighters responded to reports of smoke and fire at a home on Dorman Circle off of 9th Avenue South.
A woman who lives there told Myrtle Beach Police that she was standing in her living room when the fire occurred, according to a police report.
She also told police that her daughter had opened a bedroom door and the fire quickly spread.
The house was evacuated and no one was hurt, according to the police report.
The woman told police that there had been issues with their heater vent smoking the past few days.
Firefighters put out the fire within ten minutes, said Lt. Christian Sliker.
Crews are still investigating the cause.
Six people were displaced due to the fire. Four adults and two children lived in the home, according to Sliker.
Firefighters contacted the Red Cross to help with the displaced families.
