Surfside Beach Town Councilman Randle Stevens apologized during the town council's meeting Monday night for an incident at a bank on August 20th.

Surfside Beach police escorted Stevens out of the bank after an argument with a teller, the teller called 911. Stevens was not arrested or charged.

Monday night, he read a prepared statement which said in part, "I take and accept full responsibility for my actions and I am truly sorry that my actions caused any embarrassment to the town and with great humility, I ask the citizens and the member of council for your forgiveness in this matter."

The large crowd at the meeting applauded Stevens after he finished reading the statement.
