The 5th named storm of the 2012 hurricane season was named Thursday afternoon.

Tropical Depression #5 was upgraded to Tropical Storm Ernesto when hurricane hunters found winds of 50mph.

Ernesto will travel across the Lesser Antilles as we head into Friday morning, then move through the Caribbean for the weekend and early next week.

Ernesto is a familiar name to the area. On August, 31st, 2006, Tropical Storm Ernesto passed just to the east of us dumping 3-7 inches of rain.
