Some local Marines made their way home after six months in Iraq.

The welcome home ceremony held at the Murrells Inlet American Legion is a part of Operation Welcome Home, a program founded in 1991 in Rochester, New York.

It's now being introduced to the Myrtle Beach area.

The program is dedicated to welcoming military personnel home and providing support services.

Family members are encouraged to call to report the return of military members in the Myrtle Beach area.

Just call (843) 916 - 7288.

If you'd like to volunteer, call the same number.
