Al Allen will face Mark Lazarus in the runoff for Horry County Council Chair on March 26.
A recount of the March 12 election Thursday morning showed Allen had the second most votes among the five people running on the Republican ticket.
The winner of the runoff will take the seat because no Democrats filed to run.
Unofficial results showed Lazarus had 41 percent of the vote.
Allen had 24.4 percent.
Debbie Harwell had 23.6 percent.
Because the margin between Allen and Harwell was less than one percent, a recount was necessary.
Liz Gilland and Fonzie Lewis also ran in the March 12 primary.
The winner will fill the term of former Horry County Council Chair, now Congressman, Tom Rice.
We expect to receive certified numbers this afternoon.
