Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue crews responded to a fully involved mobile home fire on Magnolia Lane near Grissom Parkway around 1:30 Monday morning.

Crews immediately had to go into defensive attack mode because there was no way to save the home, according to Captain Michael Lewis.

The family was inside the home at the time the fire started, but was able to escape before firefighters arrived.

No one was injured, but the home is a total loss, Lewis said.

Red Cross is assisting the family.

The fire was caused by a heater that was too close to combustibles, according to Assistant Chief Scott Thompson with Horry County Fire Rescue.

It has been ruled accidental.
