South Carolina Highway Patrol says a man left Dunes Cycle about 6:20 p.m. Thursday, test driving a motorcycle, went across Highway 707, hit a ditch and a tree.

David Walsh, 47, died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center at 7:50 p.m. from massive trauma, according to Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.

Dunes Cycle is on Highway 707 at Salem Road.

Highway Patrol doesn't yet know if Walsh was wearing a helmet.

Troopers are investigating.
