The Socastee Braves beat the defending Class 3A State Champion St. James Sharks 11-1 on Friday night at Socastee High to win the Mingo Bay Baseball Tournament Championship.

Charlie Nicholson drove in five runs to lead the Braves. Nicholson hit a grand slam in the second inning to put Socastee on top 7-1. He later hit a solo homer in the fourth. Walker Darnell added a homer during a three run fifth inning to seal the deal for Socastee. The Braves won the game in five innings.

Socastee improves their overall record to 17-3. St. James falls to 15-5.
