Horry County police are conducting an operation in various areas of the county but won't yet say what it is. The State Law Enforcement Division is also involved.
Numerous police cars and a SWAT truck have been spotted around Surfside Beach.
We were told the solicitor's office is involved and we are waiting for a call back to see if it will release any information.
The Drug Enforcement Unit says it is not involved.
Police arrived at Seagull Landing Court near Highway 707 just after noon.
Joe Sheehy lives on the street. He says about 15 police vehicles showed up around 8 a.m. and police arrested at least four people at a neighbor's home. Sheehy says the Department of Social Services took two small children from the house.
We don't know why police went back around noon, but they surrounded the mobile home and have removed items from the home. A SWAT vehicle and eight police cars were there.
Police also seized a bunch of boxes from a home on Deer Trace Circle, not far from Seagull Landing Court. They loaded the boxes into a U-Haul truck before leaving that home.
