Wednesday is the day many have been waiting for, as Robin Roberts returns to the Good Morning America anchor desk.

It is Robert's first day back since going on medical leave in August. She was diagnosed with a rare blood marrow disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome that affects the body's ability to produce blood.

After a bone marrow transplant and five months of treatment, her doctors have given her the thumbs up to return to her anchor chair.

Roberts arrived at GMA's New York studio early Wednesday morning, ready to reunite with her co-anchors during the East Coast broadcast.
