UPDATE
A 22-year-old Conway man was arrested in Ohio for the deadly shooting at Coastal Carolina University on February 26.
Mansfield, Ohio police arrested Stephon Mclain, Jr. Wednesday for Murder in the shooting death of Anthony Liddell at University Place residence hall.
Mclain waived extradition and was brought by state agents to J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County.
Mclain had an arraignment hearing Friday afternoon. Solicitor Jimmy Richardson informed him of the penalty the charge of Murder carries, which is 30 years to life in prison.
Richardson told the judge Mclain does not have a prior record. Mclain will remain at the detention center because only a Circuit Court judge can set bond on the charge he faces.
A bond hearing for Mclain has not been set at this time.
Marquis McDonald, 20, also of Conway, surrendered to State Law Enforcement Division agents on March 1. McDonald is charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
The warrant says McDonald agreed to meet Liddell at the residence hall. It says Mclain shot Liddell three times.
It says Mclain and McDonald were together both before and after the shooting.
The warrant states McDonald admits to being there during the shooting and that Mclain fired the shots.
Liddell was sophomore from Bennettsville, majoring in sports medicine at CCU.
