The Horry County Sheriff's Office, State Law Enforcement Division, ATF, and the US Marshals task force all worked to arrest a fugitive from North Carolina Wednesday morning.

They were looking for Zarius Vereen on Namons Place Road in Green Sea around 10 a.m., according to Jeff Benton with the Horry County Sheriff's Office.

While inside the home looking for Vereen, police saw him in a car outside the home, Benton added.

Vereen was arrested and booked into the J Rueben Long Detention Center awaiting extradition back to North Carolina, said Benton.

Several other people were arrested for gun violations and drug charges.
