Georgetown County sheriff's deputies were patrolling the Sampit area when they smelled marijuana near Browns Sugar Shack at the intersection of Powell and Saints Delight roads around 3:30 Monday morning.

Deputies walked the parking lot and say they found several bundles of what appeared to be heroin in plain view in one of the vehicles.

Deputies say they saw Anthony Brent Armstead, 24, of Georgetown, later unlock and get into that vehicle.

Deputies arrested Armstead and seized twelve bundles, about 1.2 grams of heroin, and what appeared to be a marijuana blunt.

Armstead is charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin and Simple Possession of Marijuana.
