Matthew Donald Kelly, 40, was arrested Wednesday and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and Arson in connection with a fire at the Toni Pennington Law Firm, which is also in the same building as the Islander Bar on Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island.
Kelly owns Lumpy's Bar & Grill, which is next door to the Islander.
Deputies were called to the fire on January 13, because the fire was suspicious.
The Midway Fire Department had responded to the fire and found the front door to the law firm open, as well as other evidence supporting arson, according to the sheriff's office.
The fire was isolated to the law firm part of the building.
Kelly is responsible for setting the fire, according to the sheriff's office.
Kelly was already in custody on an unrelated charge when he was arrested.
