An 18-wheeler has flipped on its side on the Highway 701 overpass at Highway 22 in Horry County about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Our crew on the scene says both lanes of Highway 701 are shut down.

The driver of the truck is being taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, according to Horry County Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Scott Thompson.

The truck was carrying rocks, and the highway will be shut down until the rocks are cleared, said Highway Patrol spokesman Sonny Collins.

We'll post more details as we get them.
