The Georgetown County Council passed its final reading of a controversial development known as Pawleys Island Plaza.
The original plans included a building over 100,000 square feet that was rumored to be a big box store.
That rumor caused Waccamaw Neck residents to come out in support of a group known as "Don't Box the Neck."
At the last council meeting, the Charleston based developers scaled down the large building to 60,000 square feet.
The plans were not changed from the last meeting.
"The reading passed quickly and quietly," said Goergetown County spokeswoman Jackie Broach.
