The Robinson Nuclear Plant plans to test its alert notification sirens between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The sirens should be heard in a ten-mile radius from the plant, which is near Hartsville.

The sirens will sound for about 15 seconds at least one time during the test, but they may sound more than once.

Progress Energy conducts the test every three months.

If it were a real emergency, you would be alerted to tune to public radio and television stations for information and instructions.
