The National Weather Service says there is an elevated fire danger Tuesday for the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.

Florence, Marion, Kingstree, Conway, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Garden City, Andrews, Georgetown and Murrells Inlet were listed as cities that could see a potential fire threat.

Very dry air plus northwest winds around ten miles per hour, with gusts up to 15 miles per hour, could cause rapid spread of fire.

The South Carolina Forestry Commission has indicated that lack of recent rainfall is also a factor.

Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you should burn Tuesday.
