FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) - A Lake City woman died after crashing her car into a lake Sunday afternoon. Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken said the victim is Victoria Carter Redden, 51.

It happened near the intersection of Knollwood Road and South Cashua Drive in Florence.

Firefighters rescued Redden from a completely submerged car around 3:15 p.m., according to Capt. Anthony B. Fox.

Fox said it took crews 14 minutes to get the woman out of the car which was in about 15 to 20 feet of water. She was the only person inside of the car.

It appears a medical condition may have contributed to the crash so tests are being performed, according to Lutcken.

Drivers in the area at the time said Redden was not speeding before the crash.

Highway Patrol is investigating.

The West Florence Fire Department, Florence County EMS, the Florence County Sheriff's Office responded.
