Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown says inmate Jamie White, 26, was stabbed to death at Evans Correctional Institution in Bennettsville, Sunday night. White's death has been ruled a homicide.
White was serving an 11-year prison sentence for armed robbery out of Dillon County, according to Clark Newsom, spokesperson for the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
Clark says White was committed to Evans in September of 2012. The State Law Enforcement Division(SLED) is investigating.
At this point, they're not releasing any details.
