Florence County Sheriff's Deputy Jake Chamberlain is on administrative leave pending an investigation into an off duty incident by the State Law Enforcement Division(SLED), according to Captain Michael Nunn.

Communication officials with SLED say they got a request from the Florence County Sheriff's Office last week to look into the incident involving Chamberlain.

A 31-year-old man who wishes to remain anoymous says Chamberlain attacked him at a home on Main Street in Olanta on December 27.

He says he doesn't even know Chamberlain.

The man says he stayed in the hospital overnight for his injuries and had to go back for more medical treatment the next morning.

He says his cheeks and nose were broken , eyes swollen shut and some of his teeth damaged.

We will update you with more information on this investigation as it becomes available.
