A Surfside Beach man is facing charges after police say he broke into a home.

Raymond A. Azar, 41, has been arrested and charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Petit Larceny, and Malicious Damage to Property.

Horry County police were called to a home on Glenn's Bay Road in Surfside Beach early Thursday morning for a reported domestic dispute.

When they arrived, police say Azar had already taken off.

The victim in the domestic case later got a phone call from Azar. Investigators were able to trace the number that he called from to the address in Surfside Beach.

When officers got to the home, they noticed forced entry to the door.

They searched the home and the area.

Azar was found nearby hiding under another residence and was then arrested.

He is being held on a $14,260 bond for the Surfside Beach charges. Other charges are pending with Horry County police for the initial incident.
