Bennettsville police responded to Woodrow Street Monday to find Gavin Jackson had been shot.
An ambulance took Jackson to the hospital, where he died.
Police charged Prentiss Edward Pouncy, 20, with Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.
The investigation continues.
