Mullins police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old college student.
Officers found Keivonte Waters of Mullins unresponsive at the PBR nightclub on Highway 76 in Mullins early Sunday morning.
Waters was hit on the head according to Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson.
Club goers flagged down an officer early Sunday morning saying the man had been involved in an altercation at the club and was not responsive, according to police.
Waters later died at the hospital in Marion, said Richardson.
The cause and manner of death for Waters is undetermined, pending toxicology reports, according to Coroner Jerry Richardson.
Officers say they do have a person of interest in the Waters' death in the event that his death is the result of a homicide.
Waters transferred to Mullins High School his senior year after previously attending Lake View High School.
Waters also played football for Mullins where he led the area in sacks.
