An Horry County corrections officer was fired after a bar incident Tuesday night.

Just after midnight, bystanders told North Myrtle Beach police Dennis Fenstamaker, 41, was arguing with his girlfriend and punched out the rear window of someone's car parked at Captain Poo's in the Little River Neck.

Fenstamaker left the scene but was later arrested and charged with Destruction of Property.

Fenstamaker was a corrections officer first class at J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway.

Detention center director Tom Fox said Fenstamaker was fired on Wednesday.

Fenstamaker had been employed with the detention center since September of 2010, Fox added.
