Investigator Patrick J. O'Hara of the Florence County Sheriff's Office has been named the 2012 Arson Investigator of the year. O'Hara received the award from the South Carolina Insurance Fraud Investigators on November 8th at their 15th Annual Meeting at The Caravelle Resort in North Myrtle Beach.
O'Hara was presented the award by SCIFI President, Brad Marlow and Sheriff Kenney Boone was present. The award is presented to the arson investigator who demonstrates excellence in the investigation of structure and vehicle fires as well as combating insurance fraud.
"We are naturally proud of Pat and this state wide recognition," said Sheriff Kenney Boone . "He approaches each assignment with professionalism and thoroughness."
O'Hara has been with the Florence County Sheriff's Office since 1999.
In 2007,he was promoted to the Investigative Division as an arson investigator. In addition to his regular duties as an arson investigator, O'Hara is an ordinance expert and a member of the SWAT Team.
