One person was killed in a single car crash in Horry County Thursday night on Knotty Branch Road.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, about 9:30, a 1999 Chevy SUV ran off the road, hit a culvert, and then a tree. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Horry County Coroners Office tells NewsChannel 15 that the 19 year-old that was killed is Matthew Carl Hucks from Conway.

The cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma.
