Monday night, the Carolina Forest Recreation Center was formally dedicated.

The $4 million facility has been open since January. At Monday's event, the public was introduced to what the center has to offer, like an indoor track, climbing wall, and gymnasium.

People were treated to food and live music.

Brent Taylor, the director of Horry County Parks and Recreation, hoped turn out would have been a little better saying, "We thought we had dodged a bullet when the hurricane came up north, but it's a school night, it's cold, so attendance was good, but not like we had hoped it would be."
